During their conversation, Mr. Bogdanov and Mr. Huntsman focused on the situation in Syria with an emphasis on prospects for the intra-Syrian negotiating process. The Russian side underscored the fact that there was no alternative to resolving the conflict in the Syrian Arab Republic by political methods on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution 2254 and noted the importance of the Astana process, including efforts to facilitate a sustained inclusive negotiating process in Geneva under the auspices of the UN.
