Embassy statement regarding Washington Examiner publication
On May 15, Washington Examiner published a provocative article by Tom Rogan, calling to blow up the Crimean Bridge.
Freedom of speech cannot justify incitement to commit terrorist acts and murder. We consider the publication to be a reflection of true intents of a certain part of Washington’s establishment that continues its path of igniting hatred and hostility between Ukraine and Russia.
Such publications go way beyond the boundaries of journalist ethics. We expect explanations on how such material reflects editorial policies of the Washington Examiner.
We would also like to inform that the Russian legislation allows possibility of criminal prosecution of those, who publicly call for terrorist activity, publicly acquit terrorism and carry out terrorist propaganda.
