The Office of the Defense, Millitary, Air and Naval Attaches is the official representative of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and serves as the primary point of contact for all joint U.S. – Russia military activities and communications on defense matters between the U.S. government and the government of the Russian Federation.
U.S. – Russian bilateral cooperation in the military sphere is based on intergovernmental Agreement on military cooperation, Agreement between Ministries of Defense of the two countries and understandings reached during the regular meetings between their military representatives.

The Trade Representative of the Russian Federation
The Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the United States of America is the official body of the Russian Government which promotes trade and economic cooperation between Russia and the USA.
The Trade Representation is an integral part of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the USA but is subordinated directly to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation headed by Minister Maxim S. Oreshkin.
The Trade Representation operates under the Russian Federal regulations including, but not limited to Enactment of the Government of the Russian Federation of June 27th 2005, № 401, Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of May 07th , 2012, № 605, Decision of the Government of the Russian Federation of June 29th, 2012, N 1128-R etc.
It represents and safeguards state interests in bilateral foreign trade and investment cooperation between two countries. The Trade Representation takes part in trade and economic cooperation negotiations and monitors the implementation of bilateral agreements.
The Trade Representation provides assistance in the trade and economic collaboration between the Russian and the US official bodies, individuals and legal entities in concluding business transactions in the fields of trade, science and technical cooperation and in developing regional cooperation and direct economic contacts, helps for further development of mutual trade and partnership in modernization, innovations and investing to both countries. The Head Office in Washington, DC also provides consulting services relating to changes occurring in the Russian trade law and customs regulations.
The Trade Representation of the Russian Federation ensures ongoing support to Business Missions of both countries officials and business representatives across the Russian Federation and the United States.
The staff of the Trade Representation includes highly profile experts in economics, international trade and law.
The Head Office of Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the USA is located in Washington, DC. New York Office and San Francisco Office are the integral parts of the Trade Representation.

The State Fisheries Committee of the Russian Federation
The State Fisheries Committee of the Russian Federation is represented in USA by Mr. Oleg Rykov, the Attache on Fisheries with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in USA.
The principal task of the Representation is to ensure implementation of the provisions of the Inter-Governmental agreements between Russia and USA in the field of fisheries, as well as implementation of a number of International conventions on protection and management of fish resources of the sea, to which both Russia and USA are the parties.
The basis for the bilateral relations in the field of commercial fishing is as follows:
Inter-Governmental Agreements on:
- Mutual relations in the field of commercial fishing, dated 31 of May, 1988
- Protection of transboarder fish resources in the central part of the Okhotsk Sea, dated 13 June 1996
- Restriction of Pacific salmon commercial fishing, dated 3 September/27 August 1992
The directives for mutual cooperation between the two countries in protecting and monitoring biological resources of the sea are elaborated in compliance with the decisions adopted by the Parties in the course of annual sessions of the Inter-Governmental Consultative Committee, established within the framework of the 1988 Agreement (see above).
