Alexander N. Darchiev

Born in 1960.
Graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1983. Holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, awarded in February 2016.
Ambassador Darchiev has been in the diplomatic service since 1992. He worked in various positions in the central apparatus of the Ministry and abroad. From 2005 to 2010 - Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in the United States, from 2010 to 2014 - Director of North America Department, from 2014 to 2020 - Ambassador of Russia to Canada, from 2021 to 2024 - Director of North America Department , from 2024 to 2025 - Director of North Atlantic Department.
By Presidential Decree No. 121 of March 06, 2025, Mr. Darchiev was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United States of America and concurrently Permanent Observer of the Russian Federation to the Organization of American States.
Awarded with honorary diplomas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the President of the Russian Federation, the Medal “For Strengthening Military Cooperation”, the Badge “For Distinction” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Order of Friendship and the Order of Honor.
