ON STATEMENTS MADE BY CERTAIN U.S. POLITICIANS REGARDING EVENTS IN CHARLOTTESVILLE
On the eve of the anniversary of the clashes on racial and social grounds in Charlottesville certain U.S. politicians came up with no better decision than to look for a “Russian footprint” in them as well. A Republican Congressman Tom Garrett has recently told CNN that a few month earlier the FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation director had given a positive answer on “Russia’s role” in the events.
A question comes up: will there be a single fact to support these innuendos? There is no evidence, just like there is no proof for other, but similarly absurd accusations against Russia for interfering in U.S. domestic affairs. We regularly attract U.S. Administration’s and public attention to this fact.
Considering irresponsible behavior of U.S. politicians, we will not be surprised if they blame Russia for organizing protests in Washington on August 12, 2018, one year after Charlottesville events. It is easier to shift the blame, rather than tend to domestic problems, confirming that 150 years after official abolition of slavery the U.S. is not past its racial tensions.
